About Annette
Annette has been a familiar face to area theatre goers due to numerous appearances at The Second Space and Roger Rocka’s Music Hall. It is an association which dates back to the early 80s. Consequently, she brings a wealth of performance training and expertise to her dancing. A fixture on the local dance scene, she has also performed at various venues, festivals and restaurants up and down California and the Central Coast, as well a guest appearance at The Pyramids in Honolulu. She has performed live with The Brothers of the Baladi, Mirage, and John Chookasian. Since January of 2002, she has been the house dancer at The Mediterranean Restaurant in Fresno (located on the northwest corner of Fresno and Gettysburg streets) performing every Friday evening and the third Saturday of each month.
Annette had studied ballet and jazz for a number of years before embarking upon her Middle – Eastern dance instruction with Ely Buffin of the Ananka Dance Company. She moved on to hone her skills in dance, performance, and teaching dance through extensive training with Cory Zamora. Annette now enjoys a relationship with the Zamora studio as an agency dancer and featured performer. She teaches a beginning belly dance class through Clovis Adult Education (www.clovisadultschool.com) and offers an intermediate/advanced class, as well as private instruction. Besides her talent as an instructor, Annette is available as a performer for your special event. Trained in the classic cabaret style of Arabic dance, her complete routines feature the variety and excitement of this style. She also specializes in performing with a variety of traditional props, such as sword, cane and tray.
